The City Plus Beaches Tour offers everything that makes the City Tour so popular, beginning with a comprehensive tour of downtown Los Angeles, including iconic landmarks such as Original Theatre District on Broadway, Hollywood, the Hollywood sign, Sunset Blvd, and celebrity homes in Beverly Hills, Holmby Hills, and Bel-Air (see complete City tour description).
At the conclusion of the City portion of the tour, there is a stop for lunch at Farmer's Market, a favorite of tourists and locals alike, offering numerous opportunities for dining, shopping, entertainment, special events or just plain people-watching.
Your tour continues with a two-hour visit to the fabulous beaches of Los Angeles: Santa Monica, Venice Beach, and Marina Del Rey.
Santa Monica is one of the world's great beach resorts, where Baywatch was once filmed! World famous as a beach resort since the 1920s, Santa Monica attracts millions of tourists to sites such as the Santa Monica Pier which was built in 1909. Santa Monica has three popular shopping districts including the Third Street Promenade, Montana Avenue on the north side and Main Street on the south end. Another favorite location is Palisades Park on Ocean Ave. which features crumbling bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Tour guests are then whisked to Venice Beach where they'll experience the offbeat eccentricity of a unique beach culture where Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno once worked out on Muscle Beach! Founded in 1905 as a beach resort, Venice Beach remained an independent city until joining Los Angeles in 1926. Venice Beach is world famous for its beaches, canals and street fair like Boardwalk.
The tour wraps up with a scenic drive through Marina Del Rey which is the world's largest man-made small boat harbor featuring over 5300 pleasure boats, yachts and commercial vessels. A standout in Marina Del Rey is Fisherman's Village, a waterfront mall built in the style of a New England fishing village.
